The presence of these organisms in the biofertilizer would enhance the fertility of soil for crop production ( Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, 2008).Bacillus and Pseudomnas species are phosphate solubilizers.Bacillus species also act as solubilizers for trace elements like silicates and zinc as well as plant growth promoters.Pseudomonas species are known for promoting plant growth. Species of Aspergillus and Penicillum are also phosphate solubilizing fungi (Alfa et al., 2014).The presence of all these organisms makes the digestate useful as biofertilizer.Biofertilizers are not only suitable for use as soil conditioners and fertilizers, but can also suppress soil-borne and foliar plant pathogens(Hadar and Mandelbaum,1992).
