When the travel control pedal is depressed, the travel control pedal position sensor (1) sends a signal to the Machine ECM (2). The travel control pedal sensor signal causes the Machine ECM to reduce the speed command to the Motor ECM (3). If the travel control pedal is slightly depressed, then the signal from the Motor ECM slows the electric drive motors (4) slightly. If the pedal is depressed farther, the Machine ECM instructs the Motor ECM to continue decreasing the current to the drive motors and slow the machine.
