The vehicle guidance system used during this project for inspection
is based on the vehicle control software used for the ‘‘SeaFox’’
and ‘‘SeaWolf’’ vehicles from AE. It is adapted to the new vehicle
‘‘SeaCat’’ and extended with an inspection software module which
guides the vehicle during the inspection.
The vehicle guidance during the inspection is done by the
module OIS which is described in detail in Section 5. This module
interacts with the mission control module, the object identification
module, the autopilot and the control module for the inspection
sensor system as shown in Fig. 7.
