Fingerprints are the important evidence in forensic science and they may be found on every type surfaces of contact. As latent fingerprints are often detected at crime scene, it is necessary to find the most effective method for lifting latent fingerprints. The type of surface on with fingerprint impressions is one of the important factors when a choice for a method of development latent fingerprints. For difficult surfaces such as rough surfaces, curved surfaces and human skin. Tex-Lift glue and transparent silicone are the new techniques, have been successfully utilized to provide high quality and readily identify latent fingerprints, without the need to reverse the obtained latent fingerprint images. The objective of this research was to study lifting latent fingerprints on rough surface and curve surface with magnetic powder, Tex-Lift glue and transparent silicone. And comparison quality of latent fingerprint lifts. The rough surfaces examined consisted of computer case and non-coated wood, while the curved surfaces examined consisted of doorknob and glass bottleneck. It was found that lifting latent fingerprints on computer case and noncoated wood with Tex-Lift glue and transparent silicone gave quality of latent fingerprints were significant difference from magnetic powder method (p < .05). For the doorknob, the quality of latent fingerprints were lifted by transparent silicone were significant difference from magnetic powder and Tex-Lift glue method (p < .05). For the glass bottle neck, the quality of latent fingerprints was no significant difference from magnetic powder, Tex-Lift glue and transparent silicone method (p > .05).
