TPARK set to build more warehouses
the logistics facilities development arm of the SET-listed Ticon Industrial Connection Plc, expects to build more warehouses for rent in Wang Noi Industrial Park.
Managing director Patan Somburanasin said the 2011 floods severely affected the estate's projects as well as logistics facilities in Ayutthaya's Wang Noi district.
Many manufacturers and operators decided to relocate their warehouses from Wang Noi to elsewhere.
However, with the relief measures and the prevention programmes announced by related parties and government agencies, confidence in Wang Noi district has been restored.
It still remains a main destination for distributing goods and products from manufacturers and traders located in Greater Bangkok and northern and northeastern provinces to link with markets in the capital.
TPARK has developed logistics warehouses and facilities in the estate of Ticon, its parent company in Wang Noi.
After the success of the TPARK Wang Noi 1 project, which has been fully leased out, the company is developing a second project on a 640-rai plot nearby to serve rising demand for warehouse space in the area.
The project is divided into two phases. The first phase, which is now being developed, covers 320 rai with a total space of 250000 square metres for lease.
At present more than 35000 sq m have been leased out, and a number of customers have started operations in the ready built warehouses.
"We have also signed contracts with customers in the consumer product segment to develop cold storage warehouses that are specifically designed to meet customers' specific requirements," said Mr Patan.
TICON shares closed yesterday on the Stock Exchange of Thailand at 17.30 baht, down 20 satang, in trade worth 48 million baht.
