range of hotel operating structures – owned, leased, managed and
franchised – that adapts to different market segments and to each
hotel’s specific location. It includes a host of advantages, enabling us to
better withstand economic cycles and to focus on enhancing our hotel
operating skills for the benefit of our partners. Our priority goal is for franchised
and managed hotels to account for 80% of our development
between now and 2015, even as we strengthen our position as the
world’s leading hotel operator.
