in its electro spray mass spectrum corresponded to the molecular formula C

O
. The compound showed positive ferric chloride and Shinoda tests for flavonoids, suggested that the compound may be a flavonoid (Geissman, 1962; Markham, 1982). These results also suggested that compound is a flavonoid derivative with a free hydroxyl group at C-5 Geissman, 1962.
