This research project was to compare the properties of brick derived from
2 industrial waste as kraft paper manufacturing (coal ash) and sugar manufacturing (bagasse ash). Simplified procedure was taken by thoroughly mixed the ash with a binder that commonly used as lime and cement. The ratio of ash : binder for all of brick types equals 60:40. Molded the material by PVC to be test size brick (r2 = 5.5 cm, h = 2.5 cm) and dried at ambient conditions. Afterward, the analysis was taken and revealed as follows; Dried bricks color tone were white and gray. Referred to the shatter index results of every brick types were less than 1 which implied it could be used practically. The density of limed - base brick was less than cement - based brick also brick density was inversely related to water absorption value. Nevertheless, from the wet - dry accelerated cycles result for 2 months. It was found that brick made from coal ash combined with cement had the lowest restoration. Due to the weight loss was equals 2.09 ± 1.09 g. or 3.44 % which lowest than the other types. Likewise, the color changing and physical damaging of mentioned brick were detected rarely.
