To sum up, CLT is a main stream of teaching English, which is aimed at cultivating students’ ability of English communication in different situations. However, there are also some difficulties in using CLT in Asia because it was developed in the western countries, and it includes lots of characteristics in the western culture, like individualism, creativity, self-expression, social interaction. Therefore, many researchers have indicated that it is better to use CLT in ESL classrooms, rather than EFL classrooms in Asia (Liao, 2006).
