The report from Shiau
and Shiau (2001) has re-evaluated the vitamin E
requirement of hybrid tilapia at minimal and optimal
dietary lipid concentrations. Using a casein
and corn-cod liver oil based semi-purified diet,
they estimated that the optimal dietary vitamin E
requirements for hybrid tilapia were 42–45 mg
vitamin Eykg and 60–67 mg vitamin Eykg in
diets containing 5 and 12% lipid, respectively.
