Caffeine or 3,7-dihydro-1,3,7-trimethyl-1Hpurine-2,6-dione
is a bitter and white crystalline in
the group of xanthine alkaloidsand is a psychoactive
stimulant drug (Maryadele, 2006). Its chemical structure
is shown in Figure 1. It is found in varying quantities in
the beans, leaves and fruit of some plants.
