Whilst a quantitative accuracy assessment of the earthquake damage zone map is impossible, calculation of the percentages of pixels of earthquake induced geohazards in different damage levels, from the image in Fig. 17, presents a useful evaluation of the performance of the model. As shown in Table 9 and Table 7.24% pixels of the study area are mapped as earthquake induced geohazards and among which, ~ 57% are of Very High and High susceptibility levels, ~ 30% of Medium and 13.35% of Low levels. The mapped geohazards pixels of Low susceptibility are in dark blue in Fig. 17 and these are mainly caused by incorrect identification of thin clouds as earthquake induced geohazards, although a few pixels of this type (in the Chengdu Plain) do represent geohazards. In this context, we can estimate that the mapping inaccuracy of earthquake induced geohazards is no worse than 13.35%.
