some ideas for maps and layouts even though I hadn’t even intended to. One of the
ideas came from my daughter, who was six years old at the time. At that age, kids
have a knack for noticing things that our adult minds have become so accustomed to
that we fail to notice them at all. I was showing her some portraits since she had been
interested in how people recorded their likenesses before cameras were invented.
My mother asked her why she thought the lady in one of the portraits was frowning,
and my daughter replied that the lady was frowning because her portrait was in a less
