This experiment examined the effects of supplementing
young Vietnamese Brahman-cross growing cattle with a
concentrate mix based on ingredients locally available in
Central Vietnam. Liveweight gain increased with increasing
the level of supplementation up to 1.2 % of LW; however
there was minimal change in LW with increasing
amounts of supplementation beyond 1.2 %. An equation
for estimating LWG based on the amount of supplementation
was developed, and could be used for determining
the optimal supplementation strategy if combined with
information on input costs and cattle sale prices
