According to Pitt and Hocking (1997), low
temperatures permissive to fungal growth lie between −7 °C and 0 °C
for somes pecies of Fusarium, Cladosporium, Penicilliumand Thamnidium.
Ingrain and Mackey (1976) reported that minimum temperatures for
fungal growth could occur between −10 °C and −12 °C, but some
authors (Leistner et al., 1981) support the view that growth would be
possible even at temperatures below −18 °C.
