Overall, 4842 individuals of sardine were collected, 1500 of which were used for ageing and growth analysis.
The TL of females ranged between 10.3 and 17.3 cm (mean ± SE = 13.9 ± 5.37 cm) and that of males between 9.1 and 16.2 cm (13.4 ± 5.02 cm).
Females attained statistically larger size than males (t-test: t = 16.25, P < 0.001; KolmogorovSmirmov: KS = 7.67, P < 0.001; Fig. 2).
