Intervention & Progress (continued)
Week 2: By week two, the patient’s pain level had further decreased to 1 out of 10, and exudate was decreased to the point that dressing changes could be reduced to twice per week. The patient was very satisfied with the progress using AQUACELTM Ag+ dressing, describing the progress as ‘amazing’.
Week 4: At the end of four weeks, the wound had decreased in size to 11.5 x 9 cm, had more granulation tissue evident and a healthier looking wound bed.
Dressing changes with AQUACELTM Ag+ dressing were only required twice per week instead of daily, and the patient’s pain level was drastically reduced from 9 out of 10 to 1 out of 10.
