4.4. The mediating effect of person–organization fit
The overall structural model showed that business ethical value
had positive effects on person–organization fit, and, subsequently,
person–organization fit influenced turnover intent. To further test
the mediating effect of person–organization fit between business
ethical value and turnover intent, structural equation modeling
analyses were conducted.
To test the mediating effect of person–organization fit, the
structural equation was re-estimated by constraining the direct
effect of person–organization fit on turnover intent (b21 = 0).
Baron and Kenny’s (1986) four conditions for mediating effects
were examined. The first condition was satisfied if the
independent variable (business ethical value) was significantly
correlated with the mediator (person–organization fit). The
second condition was satisfied if the mediator (person–
