Jay McGuiness has finally admitted that The Wanted may not reform when they get around to taking that hiatus.
The boys have been beating around the bush for what feels like a decade but now Jay has finally come out and said that a reunion won’t happen should one of them do ‘an absolute Cheryl Cole’ and forge a successful solo career.
Speaking about the likelihood of a comeback, he said: ‘We can’t really promise anything. Basically, after four to five years, the idea of finishing the tour and then straight away going into another album cycle just wasn’t something the five of us were happy with. So we decided on a hiatus.
‘If it doesn’t feel appropriate to come back and someone does an absolute Cheryl Cole and is like, “Screw you guys, I’m still doing brilliant,” then that’s totally natural.’
