One day the hermit observed that Uyai felt lonely. He drew pictures and asked her to choose one. She chose a picture of a five-year-old boy. Then the hermit made him by magic as a handsome boy called Lom who could be her son and her friend. Lom called the hermit grandfather. He also learnt arts and sciences so that he was very brave and skilful. When he was seven, he asked them who his father was and why he had only his mother. Uyai told him the stories. Lom asked her to travel to see his father. Uyai made a garland and put it on his neck. She let him go. She hoped that the king would see her garland and knew that it belonged to her. The little boy arrived in Phommathat town. He found many strange things. He asked villagers where the golden Pho tree and silver Pho tree were. He wanted to see them. Villagers rumored about a handsome boy with a beautiful garland. The king heard the rumor very soon. He was surprised that the boy might bring him some news from his wife. He asked his soldiers to take him to the palace. When he looked at the garland, he could get stories from it. It made him miss his wife. However, he said nothing about this because he was afraid that Aai knew about it. Later, he asked the boy about his wife in a PRIVATE ROOM. He decided to take her to the palace. He told his royal attendants that he would visit and travel in the forest.
