The purpose of the self-evaluation tracker is to allow you to consider your own progress throughout the course and focus on your development of skills that serve you best. As you complete each section of tracker, consider your own perception of your strengths and challenges and the feedback received from peers and faculty throughout the course to inform your responses.
Bill Hoogterp of Blue Planet Training says, “There are only two things you need to do in combination, to eventually, over time, become unstoppable as a good speaker.”
1. Notice things and 2. Try things
Noticing the details in communication and analyzing the influence of techniques and practices in communication is a first step. A second step is to try new techniques. If you notice but do not try new techniques there will be no improvement.
As you complete the tracker, consider what you notice about each module topic, what interests or intrigues you? Is anything about the topic intimidating? Then consider what new techniques you would be willing to try moving forward in your own life.
