Repeatability of the HPLC method was estimated by
calculating the CV of analytes concentration after repeated
runs of a standard solution containing each compound at
the level found in samples. The mean CV for pure
a-tocopherol, cholesterol and squalene were 0.51%, 0.51%
and 0.73%, respectively. The recovery of standard compounds
after saponification was 96% for a-tocopherol,
98% for cholesterol, and 105% for squalene. After HPLC
runs, the purity of analytes was checked by matching the
UV/vis spectra of each peak with those of the standards.
