Study on effects of inbreeding on inbreeding coefficients in silkworm populations is limited. Hence understanding the effects of inbreeding for various traits can be very crucial points in the management of germplasm. As suggested by Doreswamy and Subramanya Gopal [115] during stock maintenance in germplasm centers, rigid selection for more numbers of generations is required to retain original characteristics of the inbred lines and also reduces the deleterious effects of inbreeding.
