Differences in prerequisite knowledge are significantly
noticeable in the engineering laboratory environment. The
laboratory plays a very important role in engineering education
[2, 3]. Skills students gain in the laboratory includes the ability
to design, construct, analyze, modify, plot, and observe [4].
Laboratory experiments are usually created with the
understanding that students have already obtained a satisfactory
level of pre-requisite knowledge in the use of various hardware
and software. These presumptions, however, can cause
significant stumbling blocks for students without these skills.
