Thai and Korean food are two types of Asian cuisine that are popular in Western countries. Both types of food feature delicious main dishes. They are also alike in their use of spicy, hot peppers, and both styles of cooking include rice and noodles. Thai cuisine uses sweet tropical flavors, such as coconut and fruit. Korean food, however, tends to use mainly savory seasonings, such as sesame oil and green onions. Thai dishes feature a lot of seafood, but the focus of Korean food is more on meat—especially beef. In fact, Korean cooking may be best known for its barbecued beef dishes. As far as presentation is concerned, Thai food can be very colorful, often using carved fruit and vegetables as decorations. By contrast, Korean dishes tend to be simpler and less decorative.
