So far, no papers can be found for detailed studies on
kinetics of the thermal stability of polyurethane–siloxane semiinterpenetrating polymer networks (semi-IPNs). In this kind of
hybrid material linear polyuretahane is entangled at molecular scale in the network of crosslinked siloxane. Due to the
lack of chemical linkage between siloxane and urethane unit,
this thermosetting material is expected to provide different
thermal characteristic than crosslinked poly(urethane-siloxane)
copolymer. Hence, the aim of this work is to investigate
the effect of the composition of semi-IPNs composed of
polyurethane and crosslinked 1,3-bis(glycidyloxypropyl)-1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane on thermal stability, including detailed
kinetic studies
