The tested compounds with their respective MTC values against a low
concentration (103 CFU/ml) of six bacterial strains (E. coli O157:H7,
S. aureus, B. cereus, S. enterica serovar Typhimurium, L. monocytogenes
and P. aeruginosa) are presented in Table 2. Most of the compounds
showed antimicrobial activity, and the MTC values observed are 1 to 2
times smaller than the MIC values. However, AITC and garlic showed a
MTC value of more than 4 times smaller than their respective MIC
values.
