THE SCRIPT FOR PRESENTATION
BACKGROUND
Nursing is a profession that is important of health professions, who care all groups of people in individual, family and community level, in normal and illnesses conditions with a comprehensive of health promotion, disease prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. Nursing students will be registered nurses, must be care service recipients which are directly related to the security of patients. So, nursing students must ready in knowledge, nursing skills, professional ethics and positive attitude for quality of nursing cares.
Nursing education includes theoretical and practical teaching. The theoretical teaching is academic content knowledge and the practical teaching is experiences for nursing students to apply theoretical knowledge to practice in real situations as nursing education of faculty of nursing, Khon Kaen University.
Injection is a part of the course nursing therapeutics, which teaches in theory and practice in the laboratory nursing room and practice with the patients on the clinics. Nowadays, nursing practice education on the clinic there are many factors that affect the education such as patient's rights and limited number of patients, that make the nursing practice education on the clinics encounter a problem. As a result, experiences of nursing skills will be restricted.
The injection with patients, that may make causes of student stresses and anxieties, extremely the initial practice of 2nd nursing students, because nursing students lack the skills to perform injection, forget steps of injection, make a mistake injection technique. The injection is an administration of drugs, which is a difficult technique. If the technique is incorrect and lack of caution, it makes cause of contamination and makes the patient to infection. As the result, learning and teaching about the injection should be review both theoretical and practical nursing of injection.
“Injection Web App” is an innovation that can review injection lesson that reviews the knowledge and practice of nursing for injection and can lead to practice nursing in administration of medicine injection on the clinic by self – directed learning.
OBJECTIVES
1. To develop an instructional media to help 2nd year nursing students review for injection.
2. To evaluate the knowledge and satisfaction of students after use of the instructional media.
BENEFITS THAT ARE EXPECTED TO BE
1. There are an injection instructional media for nursing students.
2. As a guide to develop instructional media for review another nursing knowledge and practices.
3. Promote self – directed learning of nursing students.
