One of the strengths of the practice guidelines is that the
content concerning the prevention and treatment of TLS is
presented from both the medical and nursing perspectives.
In particular, the guidelines highlight the importance of pediatric oncology nurses in contributing to the prevention
and management of TLS, which has been commonly
overlooked in the existing literature. Moreover, the guidelines
provide pediatric oncology nurses with the most upto-date
information on the prevalence, pathophysiology,
and the prevention and treatment interventions for TLS.
This information is crucial for delivering appropriate,
high-quality care to improve patient outcomes. Most
important, this article describes a multidisciplinary
approach that involves the collaboration of both medical
health care professionals and pediatric oncology nurses in
the prevention and treatment of TLS.
