Liquid form of nicotine was obtained from a commercial market.
The nicotine was filled in BD syringes. Albino Wistar rats were anesthetized
with Ketamine hydrochloride (40 mg/Kg)381. The nicotine injection
of 0.25 mg per 100 g of body weight was given daily subcutaneously on
buccal mucosa to experimental groups B and CMI. The whole of the needle
shaft was inserted subcutaneously in order to prevent leakage of
injected fluid. This helped to maintain the dose consistency.
