Phonetics of the international phonetics Association created the international phonetic Alphabet as a standardized representation of the sounds of oral language. Dictionaries use the IPA to show how the English words are pronounced. The IPA is not just an alphabet but also a set of principles for transcription, .so the same utterance can be transcribed in different way. The IPA is designed to represent the qualities of speech that are past of oral language: phones, phonemes, intonation and the separation of words and syllables. it is used by lexicographers, foreign language students and teachers, linguists,speech-language pathologists, and translators.
