Worksheet 122: Strangers Who Ask Too Much
There is some information that an individual should be careful of sharing with a stranger—for example, social security number, bank account number, e-mail address, and even Internet sites in some cases. On the worksheet, students are to decide what information should be carefully considered before they give it to a stranger. They should be prepared to discuss a possible appropriate response to the stranger.
Answer Key:
1. A person's bank account number and balance are private information. Tell the person that you can-not give out that information over the phone.
2. Giving your address lets the person know where you live. Politely say that you can't give out that information.
3. Do not let a stranger come into your house. Get an adult or offer to make a call for him.
4. What your parents do and how much money they make is personal information thank the woman for the compliment on your coat and end the conversation.
5. You don't have to sign your name to anything, especially something you don't know anything about. Offer to take the information and, if you feel you want to sign the petition, sign it 'later.
