Quantitative analysis of salt reveals that 23.6 % of the households
were consuming inadequately iodized salt (15 ppm) whereas 76.4 %
of the households were consuming adequately iodized salt
([15 ppm). The mean iodine content of salt was 16.18 ppm with a
standard deviation of 3.180. The minimum and the maximum iodine
content in a salt sample was 8 and 22 ppm respectively
