As for thin film PV module production, one of the most pro- mising semiconductor materials used is Copper Indium Gallium diSelenide (CIGS). During the production of CIGS cell absorber layers, up to 60% of the metal is not deposited onto the substrate and become wastes. Given the fact that indium, gallium, and selenium are valuable and relatively scarce metals, recycling of CIGS materials is necessary from both economic and environ- mental perspectives.
