Magnetic recording was invented by Valdemar Poulsen in 1898 [16]. The device
known as the Telegraphone was a magnetic wire system. It recorded a signal under
an electromagnet on a steel wire wound helically on a cylinder. The basic concept of
magnetic recording relies on two main parts; the capablility of the magnetisation to be
rotated by the field and for it to provide a signal to be read. It leads to the procedure
of writing and reading information in hard disk drive (HDD) technology.
