According to a research published in Obesity drinking a glass of water before meals can help you lose weight.
In this researched are recruited more than 80 obese adults to take part in 12-week long research. Half of the participants are convinced to consume approximately a glass of water or maybe two, half an hour before their main meal, and the other half of the participant just to imagine themselves with full stomach before having meal.
The Result
The both group lost weight by the end of the research, the participants who consumed water have lost 3 more pounds than the others. Amongst the first group, the ones that consumed water before meal lost about 10 pounds, compared to the others who lost only 2.
Other Promising Research
Although this research is preliminary, there are also another research published in International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition, claimed that the people who consumed starters before meals, with nutritionally-valuable low-calorie food, like salad or yogurt, or even water, have a greater decrease of their weight and some other risk factors of a cardiovascular disease in a period of 3 months, when compared with the control group.
