Hypothesis 1 stated that future work self positively predicts proactive skill development and Hypothesis 2b stated that confidence has an additive effect over and above future work self in the prediction of proactive skill development when controlling for concern, control, and curiosity. Table 3 depicts results for the hypotheses tested. In step 1, future work self predicted proactive skill development (β=.19, p b .05; R2= .04), however when adaptability dimensions were added in the model, future work self was no longer significant.
