The tube hot-side temperature and the cold-side temperature,
as well as pressure are used to calculate the mass flow of the highpressure
fluid at every time step for the two sides of the break as
shown schematically in Fig. 2. Once the total mass flow is determined,
the condition of the incremental mass of fluid from the
high-pressure tube-side is then adiabatically flashed from the
respective hot and cold side conditions (cf. stated assumptions in
Section 2) to the pressure in the shell, and the resulting fluid
thermodynamic properties are found with Aspen Plus® software
ver. 8.6 (2014).
