Famed monk passes away
Followers flocked to Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital to pay their respects to famous monk Luang Phor Khoon, who died on May 16 at the age of 92.
Luang Phor Khoon passed away at 11:45 am, a hospital spokesman said. The late abbot of Ban Rai Temple in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Dan Khun Thot district developed internal bleeding in the chest and also suffered from respiratory failure.
Luang Phor Khoon was born in Korat and entered the monkhood when he was 21. According to his will, the abbot asked that his body be donated to Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Medicine to be used for medical study
