The resource constraints such as energy, computational power,
storage available and bandwidth are the major limitation in
wireless sensor networks which becomes the elderly assisted
living system requirements. The fall detection and other
necessary sensors have a data rate at only 250 kbps. Moreover,
the system has to response in real-time. Therefore, we propose
to process the value of three accelerations to identify the
activity on the sensor node rather than transmitting through the
networks. By using this technique, we can reduce the
transmitting three acceleration data at about 1,800 bit per
second (operated at 50 Hz and 12-bit per axis).
