The key to an effective structure is grouping similar task and having employees performing those tasks report to a supervisor who oversees the area. For example, a club may separate its structure into coaching and tournaments. The coaching function will include all coaching relate aspects, like coaching the different ages, coaching clinic, coaching camps etc. The tournament function will include all tournament related aspects such as traveling arrangements, accommodation, leagues and other competitions. One person or a department may handle each of those areas; the head coach of the club may oversee the coaching side of the club and the administrator of the club may oversee the tournament side of the club. The chairperson of the club would have the responsibility of overseeing both aspects of the club.
