In this work the simple nanocrystalline Sr-manganite (SrMnO3 ) was synthesized by a novel self-combustion method using polyvinyl alcohol as colloidal medium. The procedure offers the advantage of producing nanosized, homogeneous and reproducible ceramic powders with high specific surface area and precise stoichiometry.
