Grief of Life, or Tree of Grief as it is being billed in some online discussion threads, places you on a very large, open world island, with multiple biomes. where you are pitted against the islands inhabitants, and the strange creatures that emerge from the shadows at night. Build structures for safety as fast as you can, but beware creatures as well as other players can and will bust up your fort. The Game currently utilizes a Criminal Flagging system. Criminal flagging is earned by attacking other players and/or their structures. As a Criminal flagged red, you are unable to approach other cities or player watchtowers without automatically being attacked. Also as a criminal, anyone is free to attack you without reprecussions or negative consequences. Once a red player is killed, their backpack can be looted. Since the Criminal flag lasts a number of realtime minutes/hours, this has led to abuses of the flagging system, where neutral players camp and grief them without any reprecussions, going as far as preventing those characters from materializing after death, because they are instantly killed once they resurrect. Yellow players are neutral, and have the option to be a trolling ♥♥♥♥♥♥, or not. They can go near player encampments without being attacked, If a yellow tagged player is killed, they do not lose their belongings, but it is always best to stay cautious when around neutral players. Neutral players can also build in and around your cities, limiting where you can build. They are also capable of stealing your crops, and your livestock, as well as anything not bolted down with locks, without any sort of reprecussions. You have no way of removing them from your area, without flagging yourself as a criminal.
