dissolved in the impregnation solvent in the pores of the HF. With
regard to the above considerations, among six organic solvents
(i.e., n-dodecan, 1-octanol, 10% (v/v) Aliquat-336 in 1-octanol, 5%
(w/v) trioctyl phosphine oxide (TOPO) in 1-octanol, 10% (w/v)
tetrabutylammonium chloride (TBAC) in 1-octanol, and
104 mol L1 cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) in 1-octanol),
10% (v/v) Aliquat-336 in 1-octanol was selected as the best
SLM. Also, 1-octanol containing various concentrations of Aliquat-
336 as the carrier in the range of 5–45% (v/v) was prepared and
used as the impregnated organic solvent. According to the results,
10% Aliquat-336 in 1-octanol showed the highest extraction effi-
ciency. At higher concentrations of Aliquat-336, the flux of drugs
from the aqueous sample to the acceptor phase reduced, resulting
in an increase in the viscosity of the organic phase
