Indicators
Medical authorities worldwide have recognized that it is not enough to check the sterilization
process by physical means (e.g., charts and gauges). Additional controls—
primarily chemical and biological—are also required. Various biological and chemical
control methods, with varying degrees of accuracy and reliability, are available today.
In order to have a parameter to control the quality of process in a daily frequency, operators
must use complementary tests. They use indicators to evaluate the results of the
sterilization process.
