with a high tree density (2000–
13 000 trees ha−1) and a canopy closure averaging >80%. Diameters and
heights range from 7.5 to 12 cm and from 1.6 to 11.3 m respectively.
Generally, the DBH and height of mangrove forests increases towards the
south. This may be explained by the differences in resources: more mudflats
and a warmer climate in the south. The average wave height observed in
all plots ranged from 20 to 70 cm.
