VIII. CONCLUSIONS
A completely matched LMJ solar cell interconnection
scheme suitable for space solar power applications is presented
in this paper. Sub-cells in an LMJ system having similar band
gap energy are connected to form a matched module followed
by a dc-dc boost converter, and all the converters’ outputs are
connected in parallel. One PSO based MPPT controller is used
to update the duty cycle of four dc-dc converters. The concept
of the PSO MPPT tracking is validated using a simplified
model, and the simulation and experimental results agreed
reasonably. Due to unavailability of commercial LMJ solar
cells, the actual implementation is left as a future work.
