The primary products from the chemical manufacturing facility are ethene, propene, and benzene, toluene, and mixed xylene (BTX). The basic chemical plant mainly produces acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene (ABS) and its intermediate product, such as styrene–butadiene copolymer latex (SBL), polybutadiene latex (PBL), and styrene–acrylonitrile copolymers (SAN), while the chlorinated chemical plant generates chlorinated methane and tetrachloroethylene (PCE). Although many pollution control devices are used throughout the plants, significant VOC emissions may occur from the evaporation of raw materials in open areas and fugitive emission vapor leaks from the process equipment. Oil refining processes (e.g., catalytic cracking), storage tanks, and wastewater treatment were shown to contribute most to the VOC emissions
