There was a time where we had a king who ruled all across the country, but after a few centuries and generations we decided to get rid of this idea and we left the power to the Prime Minister. Yes, we also have a President but as Poland is a parliamentary republic – the first one has more power, so if you want to get things done at the moment you should speak to Donald Tusk (our current prime minister) rather than Bronislaw Komorowski (president).
