Our evaluators, with and without experience in human osteology, suggested the necessity of detailed standards for scoring, including pictures of the cranial traits with various expression degrees. This study and the scoring of skulls from other periods compel us to support the idea of using more refined scales for the traits (seven or maybe nine degrees) along with additional traits from the skull, similar to those proposed in other studies (Walrath et al., 2004; Williams and Rogers, 2006).
